Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ride tickets are sold in packages or individually. Pricing is anywhere from $1.50 for a single ticket to $100 for the Super Saver Package. The more you buy the more you save.

  • For 2026 we are open for Fur Rendezvous, 4th of July on the Park Strip, Bear Paw Festival in Eagle River and the Alaska State Fair.

  • We have rides for almost every child. Most rides can be ridden by folks 36” and taller with a supervising companion. Our goal is to have something for everyone but the safety of riders always comes first. Ride height restrictions are set by the amusement ride manufacturer.

  • Yes. Use the “contact us” form to reach out about your next event.

  • Of course. You may visit our guest services window either by the Aftershock Rollercoaster or our mobile office at other events for information about accessibility if you are concerned or require extra assistance.

  • All amusement rides have maximum weight restrictions set out by the amusements ride manufacturer. If you are concerned, take a moment to read the safety information sign placed at each ride. Rides are not made for all body types and the safety restraints must be able to properly function

  • Yes. We can always use more team members. Check the “hiring” tab for more info. Drug tests and criminal background checks are administered on site for all potential employees before employment begins

  • We wish we could give everyone free rides but sadly it is very expensive to operate amusement rides in Alaska. Practically speaking rides, staff, insurance and the overhead of operating quality rides is quite expensive; our rides however are priced on par with carnivals operating in the lower 48.

  • Yes. Golden Wheel is the only Alaskan owned and operated carnival. We started in 1967 and are based in Chugiak off of the Old Glenn Highway. We are currently being run by third generation Alaskans.
